2019 NFL Power Rankings: Week Six

10/08/2019

Here at the ICT Zone, our power rankings are based on a very simple philosophy. "To be the man you gotta beat the man", if a lower ranked team beats a higher ranked team, then the two teams automatically swap spots regardless of results from prior weeks. With that, we move on to six of the 2019 NFL season.

Last week, the Chiefs were first but we can't speak about week 5 without mentioning the Colts' domination of the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. The Chiefs could still make the Super Bowl but the last few weeks have exposed some holes in the team that they hope the return of Tyreke Hill will cover. The Patriots are one of two undefeated teams left in the NFL and the other are the surprising San Francisco 49ers despite Jimmy Garoppolo's mediocrity to start this season. The 49ers are one of the most entertaining teams to watch so far this season and only time will tell how the season turns out. Elsewhere, the Cowboys dropped a second game in a row after a promising 3 and 0 start to the season.

The Bills, Bears, Raiders and new number 1 Colts enjoy a bye week for week 6. Tune in next monday to see how things shake up.

1. Indianapolis Colts +8

(3-2)

We can't forget that this same team dropped a game to the Raiders last week.

2. Oakland Raiders

(3-2)

At least one Gruden is still employed and to be fair he's doing a great job.

3. New England Patriots

(5-0)

The Patriots continue to roll through the season behind an elite defense.

4. New Orleans Saints

(4-1)

The talk was about holding on without Brees, they have far exceeded expectations.

5. Philadelphia Eagles

(3-2)

The Eagles are probably the favorites for the NFC East.

6. San Francisco 49ers +1

(4-0)

The 49ers are no long outsiders, they might be favorites to come out of the NFC.

7. Cleveland Browns -1

(2-3)

Hopefully this is just a sophomore slump for Baker, there's no reason to panic.

8. Chicago Bears

(3-2)

The Bears fell well short of expectations this week and could miss the playoffs.

9. Kansas City Chiefs -8

(4-1)

The Chiefs have holes that need covering fortunately there have 12 weeks.

10. Detroit Lions

(2-1-1)

The week off should have done wonders for a banged up Matthew Stafford.

11. Buffalo Bills +3

(4-1)

The slander for the Bills will stop . . . for now.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

(2-3)

There is no plausible explanation for 0 yards and three targets for Mike Evans.

13. Green Bay Packers +15

(4-1)

This is Aaron Rodgers' best chance at a super bowl berth since 2011.

14. Tennessee Titans -3

(2-3)

The Titans will probably win next weekend and continue their quest for 8-8.

15. Seattle Seahawks

(4-1)

Russell Wilson is finally getting the credit he deserves.

16. Carolina Panthers

(3-2)

Christian McCaffrey is the best running back in the NFL.

17. Houston Texans

(3-2)

There is no world where Deshaun Watson is not a top three quarterback in the NFL.

18. Baltimore Ravens

(3-2)

The Ravens are not as good as we thought but a win is a win.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers

(1-4)

This season is over for the Steelers but Mike Tomlin deserves to keep his job.

20. Denver Broncos +5

(1-4)

At least the Broncos finally got a win.

21. Minnesota Vikings +1

(3-2)

Kirk Cousins weathered the storm for a week but it will be back.

22. New York Giants -1

(2-3)

No reason to rush Saquon Barkley back for a 6-10 season.

23. Jacksonville Jaguars

(2-3)

The Chark - Minshew is already lethal only 5 games into their career together.

24. Washington

(0-5)

The Washington organization is a complete mess and rightfully so.

25. Los Angeles Chargers -5

(2-3)

That was as close to a must win as you could have in week 5 and they took an L.

26. Arizona Cardinals

(1-3-1)

Congrats to Murray on his first win, on the same week Rosen did it last season . . .

27. Atlanta Falcons

(1-4)

No idea how the Falcons are this bad with all their offensive weapons.

28. Dallas Cowboys -15

(3-2)

The Cowboys will be fine but this proves Dak is not a 35 million dollar quarterback.

29. Los Angeles Rams

(3-2)

The Rams need to figure this out fast, Gurley's struggles are no longer an excuse.

30. Cincinnati Bengals

(0-5)

Please trade Adriel Jeremiah Green.

31. New York Jets

(0-4)

At least Sam Darnold is close to a return.

32. Miami Dolphins

(0-4)

Bye week is over, back to assuming the role of the league's punching bag.

The month of December is giving us non stop boxing, with an event every weekend until Christmas Day. We started this cold month hot with three world title fights on December seventh, with Richardson Hitchins (19-0, 7 KOs) defeating Liam Paro (25-1, 15 KOs) in a majority decision win to claim the IBF Super Lightweight world title in Puerto Rico....

Another MLS draft is upon us, bringing back fiery debates about whether there is still any value in the system or if it is a complete and utter waste of time. The franchises themselves have long signaled where they stand in that argument. For one, the growing trend of GMs declining to select a player prompted several changes, such as...
